Information collection of students and teachers is a core part of the "Home-School Link" system. How to correctly identify students entering the school and accurately send safe messages to parents is the key. Now system integrators generally use rfid's radio frequency identification technology. When the student carries the electronic card through the school gate, the equipment placed around the school gate senses the information and reports it to the software side, completing an information collection process. At present, rfid technology is developing rapidly, and the technical scope is relatively broad. The rfid technologies that can be applied in "home-school communication" can be roughly divided into low frequency, high frequency, ultra high frequency, active 2.4g and other rfid technologies. And each technology category also differs in application according to its own characteristics. The following is a summary of the application methods and advantages of each technology in "Home-School Communication".
One, low frequency
The working frequency of low-frequency rfid is 125khz, and the device type adopts channel mode. Students can automatically read information through the channel while wearing the card. Due to the low-frequency reading distance limitation, the low-frequency channel is placed at a distance of about 80cm. The speed of people passing through the low-frequency rfid channel is not ideal enough. Since the low-frequency channel cannot support simultaneous reading of multiple tags, only one person is allowed to pass through the channel at a time, which obviously cannot meet the needs of the school during the peak period of school. Department integrators use multiple channels to ease the situation. The advantage of low-frequency rfid is that the low-frequency is basically not affected by water and liquid, and the human body wearing the tag will not affect the reading effect of the channel on the card. The information reading of the channel can be locked to an individual, and an alarm for persons without a card can be carried out. In this way, it is possible to prevent students from entering the campus without a card or from outsiders entering the campus. In addition, low-frequency rfid tags are cheaper. According to his own technical characteristics, low-frequency rfid technology is more used for livestock management in the livestock industry. On the one hand, the cost is not high. On the other hand, the size of the livestock is large and the movement is relatively slow. The low-frequency channel reads one tag at a time. The form is completely satisfactory.
2. High frequency close range
The frequency band of high frequency rfid is at 13.56mhz, which is divided into two types, one of which is the short-range 14443 protocol. The reading distance of this technology is about 10cm. In the use of "Home-School Link", students usually use the wall-mounted attendance machine to swipe their cards actively, and some use barrier-free channels. Of course, if you use the wall-mounted machine, you cannot make an alarm for people without a card. Therefore, in the application of short-distance high-frequency rfid, there are also merchants using channels. Due to the need for people to stay and actively swipe the card, the technical passing speed of short-distance high-frequency rfid is slower than that of low-frequency rfid. However, the security of short-distance high-frequency rfid is better, so it is more used in colleges or corporate parks when it involves catering and bathing consumption. In the card information miss rate, it is basically the smallest among all technologies.
Three, high frequency and long distance
15693 protocol is another protocol of 13.56mhz high-frequency rfid. The difference between this protocol and 14443 is that it can read farther distances. The use of high-frequency and long-distance in "home-school communication" is more common, and the channel is used for reading. The channel placement distance is between 1 meter and 1.2 meters. The reason why high-frequency long-distance rfid is widely used is that some manufacturers have produced channels that can be cascaded, which can form two channels and four devices by using three pieces of equipment. It can be composed of three channels, the more channels are placed, the less equipment is used. The placement of ultra-wide school gates can greatly save costs. In addition, the high-frequency long-distance channel can support multi-tag reading in the channel, and the traffic speed has been greatly improved. In addition, the high-frequency and long-distance can lock the information to the individual, and can promptly alarm for the entry of people without a card. Effectively prevent outsiders from entering the campus. But one of the problems with high-frequency long-distance rfid is that the price of the card is slightly higher.
Four, UHF
UHF is usually used in China with a working frequency of 915mhz. It is different from the technical principle of low frequency and high frequency, and it is induced by the principle of signal reflection. Therefore, its reading distance is relatively long, usually the nominal distance of an UHF card reader is 5-15 meters. UHF channels can often achieve a wide distance, allowing multiple people to pass side by side. However, at present, UHF is basically not used in "Home-School Communication". The main reason for this is that UHF signals cannot penetrate water, and the human body absorbs a lot of energy when wearing UHF cards. At the same time, UHF reading requires that the card must be at a certain angle with the antenna. When people enter and exit, they will not walk directly toward the antenna. It is possible that a random card will be missed, causing leakage. The reading rate is high. In addition, the UHF reading boundary is not clear, and multiple people wearing cards together affect each other seriously. UHF is currently used more in the logistics industry.
Five, 2.4g active
In addition to high-frequency and long-distance, there is now another 2.4g active technology that can be used in "Home-School Communication". Its unique feature is that there will be a battery in the card, which makes its reading distance farther by actively transmitting signals. The difference between active 2.4g and high-frequency long-distance applications is that it installs card readers on both sides of the school gate, not a channel system in the strict sense. In this way, the ultra-wide and large school gate can also facilitate personnel access information Read. Active 2.4g is currently facing two serious problems. One is the battery life. Because it is encapsulated in the card, students must change the card once the battery is exhausted, and even if the battery is not exhausted, it will be used for a period of time. Later, due to the weakening of the power, the transmitted signal will also be weakened, and the reading effect will be affected. Another problem is that 2.4g active technology, like UHF, is more directional, and its performance is affected by humidity. A common problem is that the card cannot be held by hand or placed in the bag behind the pants.
Due to the rapid development of rfid, different technologies are becoming more and more mature. The targeted applications also include all aspects of life. As a core part of the construction of "Safe Campus", the development of "Home-School Communication" has also been promoted by rfid. It is precisely because of the application of rfid technology that the safety of children at school can be improved more. Children are the future of the motherland. How to choose the right technology to do a good job of "home-school communication" is a question that all integrators and schools must consider.
