　　EU plans to release RFID tire label standards

　　According to reports, the EU general ISO standard for RFID tire labels is expected to be released before the end of 2019. The full name of the tag is a radio frequency identification (RFID) electronic tag for tires. As the person in charge of industry standards and government regulations, Loiret is also the co-convenor of ISOTC31 WG10 (International Organization for Standardization/Tyre, Rim and Valve Technical Committee/Working Group on RFID Electronic Labels for Tires). The task of this working group is to draft four international standards for RFID electronic tags for tires.

　　It is reported that more than 60 experts from Austria, Belgium, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States are providing their opinions. Loiret said that since the update in February 2018, two of the four standard texts-CD20911 (RFID tire tag embedding method) and CD20912 (RFID test method), have experienced some delays.

　　He said: "In the CD (Committee Draft) stage, more discussions have been conducted on the two texts, and a CD vote on these documents will be held in October." According to the plan of this working group, in the first half of 2019, ISO20909 (RFID tire tag) and 20910 (RFID tire tag code) are released, and ISO20911 and 20912 will be released in the second half of the year.
