NFC principle and characteristics
NFC information is transmitted through electromagnetic induction coupling in the radio frequency part of the spectrum. NFC exchanges data through non-contact point-to-point data transmission (within ten centimeters) between standby computers. This mode is similar to infrared. It can be used for data exchange, but the transmission distance is short, the transmission creation speed is fast, the transmission speed is faster, and the power consumption is low.
NFC and Bluetooth have very similar functions. They are both short-range communication technologies and are integrated into mobile phones. However, NFC does not require complex setup procedures. Therefore, NFC can also simplify the Bluetooth function, but its speed is not as fast as Bluetooth. The maximum data transmission capacity of NFC is 424kbit/s, which is far less than Bluetooth V2.1 (2.1Mbit/s).
NFC technology originated in 2003, when Philips and Sony planned to develop a compatible wireless communication technology based on contactless card technology. Therefore, Philips sent a team to Japan to research and develop this technology together with Sony's engineers.
In three months, the two companies jointly released the research and development results, which are a wireless communication technology compatible with the current ISO14443 non-contact card protocol and named NFC
