RFID-based intelligent bus priority and management scheme
1 Background and needs
In recent years, with the rapid development of the national economy, the population of large cities is highly concentrated and has grown substantially, and the demand for transportation has expanded rapidly, resulting in more and more traffic pressures faced by many large and medium-sized cities in my country. Drawing on the experience of solving urban traffic problems at home and abroad, giving priority to the development of public transport is the only way to solve urban traffic problems. Investigation and analysis show that the main reason for traffic congestion and delay in cities is the unreasonable design of intersections or signal timing. Therefore, it is particularly important to study how to reduce the delay of bus vehicles at signalized intersections. Statistics show that if bus priority is not reflected in the signal control of road signal intersections, even if there is a dedicated bus entrance, the delay of buses at the intersection will not be reduced significantly (statistics show that only about 8% can be saved). Therefore, how to use the signal control system more effectively to provide priority right-of-way guarantee for the daily operation of public transport vehicles is an urgent functional requirement to be solved and a technical bottleneck that needs to be broken through.
Active RFID electronic tag technology and dedicated short-range communication technology (DSRC), etc., provide reliable and feasible solutions in vehicle identification, vehicle-road communication, etc. The system, bus stations and systems, bus vehicles, etc. are organically linked, and a vehicle-road collaborative environment is constructed by using the Internet of Things technology, which can realize the bus priority with powerful functions and simple structure.
2 Introduction to the system
2.1 System function
The control system realizes priority traffic control of different levels and strategies for public transport vehicles and emergency vehicles.
The RFID geomagnetic detector is used to realize vehicle data detection at intersections and bus lanes. The RFID receiver is an integrated design, which can read the vehicle detector and vehicle electronic tag data at the same time.
It can realize the management of intelligent bus vehicles entering and leaving the station, which is convenient for bus scheduling.
Electronic stop sign arrival warning function, this function can be extended to the passenger's mobile phone APP, through the vehicle arrival information prompted by the mobile phone before the trip, reasonably arrange the travel time and reduce unnecessary waiting time.
Expansion: For some special-service vehicles such as ambulance, police, and firefighting, a first-level priority right of way will be developed to ensure that these special vehicles can quickly reach the designated destination, so as to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
2.2 System Structure
The system is mainly composed of RFID active vehicle-mounted electronic tags, RFID geomagnetic vehicle detectors, RFID integrated receivers, and data concentrators, which are implemented with the traffic signal control system and bus management system.

The main structure and scheme are as follows (the specific functions and structures are different and increased or decreased according to the actual situation):
(1) Each bus and emergency vehicle is equipped with a dedicated RFID active electronic tag, which is fixed on the inside of the vehicle cockpit. The tag carries vehicle, driver, line and priority information and can be remotely read or written to by an RFID receiver.
(2) Set up a two-way antenna RFID wireless receiver 150 meters from the front end of the parking line. The receiving range of the receiver is 150 meters. The bus vehicle is recognized for the first time at 300 meters, and it is confirmed again within 150 meters (confirmation priority level) , enter the receiver range within 20 meters to activate the priority signal. The WAVE-R receiver can automatically identify the driving direction of the vehicle, ensuring that only bus vehicles entering the intersection get priority.
(3) The receiver transmits the acquired vehicle information and road flow information to the intersection data concentrator, and then the data concentrator provides the vehicle information and flow information to the traffic signal controller and the control system, and the bus system according to the vehicle The route conditions and priority requests will be given priority according to the traffic conditions.
(4) A wireless receiver can be set up at the entrance and exit of the bus station, which is responsible for monitoring the entry and exit of vehicles. At the same time, the bus management system can write the required priority level to the bus through the receiver. In order to facilitate drivers to find designated vehicles in large stations, receivers can be installed in each parking area, so as to achieve positioning management of vehicles parked in the field, and combined with the location information of vehicles in transit, it is convenient for vehicles and drivers to schedule and schedule.
(5) The RFID wireless receiver can simultaneously receive the data of the on-board electronic tag and the wireless geomagnetic vehicle detector, and integrates the intersection flow detection, bus lane flow detection and vehicle identification and priority.
(6) Vehicle-mounted electronic tags can also be used for other applications of vehicle identification and management, such as station management, maintenance management, etc. The information of vehicles at intersections and stations obtained by the system can be used for the release of information such as vehicle location, travel time, etc. , Compared with GPS, the processing is simpler, the performance is more stable, and the accuracy is also guaranteed.

Real-time dynamic traffic data acquisition. Through the wireless geomagnetic vehicle detector data obtained by the integrated receiver, the dynamic traffic data such as road flow, vehicle speed, saturation, and occupancy rate can be grasped in real time.
