RFID radio frequency identification technology in commercial retail system
Introduction
As people have higher and higher requirements for identification technology, the past identification methods have gradually failed to meet the needs of modern society, especially in shops, supermarkets and other occasions. Due to the large variety and quantity of goods, the purchase and shipment volume is large, the price of the goods needs to be adjusted in real time according to the supply and demand of the market, and the traditional identification method is slow in identification and the amount of identification information is small, so it brings a lot of attention to the management of shopping malls. There is a lot of inconvenience. With the emergence of RFID radio frequency identification technology, both the accuracy and speed of identification, and the amount of information to be identified, have been greatly improved compared with the previous ones. If RFID radio frequency identification technology is introduced into commercial systems, it will be greatly improved. Improve its operational efficiency.
1 Introduction to Radio Frequency Identification Technology
1.1 The concept and characteristics of radio frequency identification
Radio Frequency Identification is a non-contact automatic identification technology, which uses radio frequency signals to automatically identify target objects and obtain related data. The English name is Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Simply put, radio frequency identification is the application of radio technology in automatic identification.
Radio frequency identification technology has the characteristics of fast identification speed, high accuracy, and large amount of information. At the same time, radio frequency identification technology can penetrate certain media for identification, such as wood, plastic, cardboard and so on. In addition, radio frequency identification technology can identify multiple objects at the same time.
1.2 The composition and working principle of the radio frequency identification system
The composition of the radio frequency identification system generally includes at least the following two parts: a transponder and an RFID electronic tag reader.
Transponder: RFID electronic tag is a kind of transponder, the English name is Tag or Smart Labels. RFID electronic tags are mainly composed of coils and chips. Each RFID electronic tag has an electronic code in an agreed format, and the RFID electronic tag is attached to an object to identify the target object.
RFID electronic tag reader: The English name is Reader. The RFID electronic tag reader can read and identify the electronic data stored in the RFID electronic tag without contact, so as to achieve the purpose of automatically identifying the object and further transmit the data to the computer. And the network, to realize the management functions of the collection, processing and remote transmission of object information.
The working principle of the radio frequency identification system: After the tag enters the magnetic field, it receives the radio frequency signal from the RFID electronic tag reader, and the RFID electronic tag uses the energy obtained by the induced current to emit the information stored in the chip (Passive Tag), or Actively send a certain frequency signal (Active Tag), the RFID electronic tag reader reads and decodes the information, and then sends it to the central information system for relevant data processing.
RFID high frequency working principle
RFID electronic tags and readers construct a non-contact information transmission channel between them through their respective antennas. The characteristics of this spatial information transmission channel are completely determined by the characteristics of the field around the antenna, which is the basic law of electromagnetic propagation. Generally, the field around the antenna can be divided into 3 areas according to the distance between the observation point and the antenna:
①Reactive near field area. It is a near-field area in the antenna radiation field that is close to the antenna aperture. Usually the boundary of this area is λ/2π away from the antenna aperture. Physically speaking, this area is an energy storage field, in which the conversion of electric and magnetic fields is similar to the principle of a transformer. Where λ is the wavelength of electromagnetic waves.
②Radiation near-field area. The electromagnetic field in this field has broken away from the restraint of the antenna and enters the space as an electromagnetic wave. The radiation field is dominant, and the angular distribution of the radiation field is related to the distance from the antenna's aperture.
③Radiation far-field area. The angular distribution of the radiation field in this field has nothing to do with the distance, it is the most important field area, and the boundary distance from the near field area is R=2D2/λ. Among them is the antenna diameter and Dλ is the electromagnetic wave wavelength.
The working distance between the tag and the reading head in the radio frequency identification system is an important indicator in the application of the radio frequency identification system. Normally, this working distance is defined as the distance between the label and the reading head that can reliably exchange data. According to the distance between the tag and the reader, the coupling between the tag antenna and the reader antenna can be divided into the following three categories:
① Close-coupled system: range 0~1cm, inductive coupling between reactive near-field areas, frequency generally below 30MHz, small electromagnetic leakage, large energy, suitable for occasions with high safety requirements, such as electronic door locks.
② Remote coupling system: It is divided into a near-coupled system (15cm) and a loosely-coupled system (1m), using the inductive coupling between the reactive near-field area, and the typical operating frequency is 13.56MHz.
③ Long-distance coupling system: The operating distance is 1~10m, and the electromagnetic coupling between the radiation source field areas is used.
2 Implementation plan of RFID radio frequency identification technology applied to commercial system
At present, the commodities in domestic shopping malls are marked with ordinary labels, which contain less information and are inconvenient to change. This is very unfavorable for the dynamic update of information. At the same time, it also brings a lot of trouble to the warehouse management of the goods. For example, when the price of an item changes, ordinary tags cannot be displayed and modified online in real time, and can only be re-marked by a salesperson. At the same time, the item prices in the database must also be modified. Obviously, this tag management method is very troublesome.

The application of RFID radio frequency identification technology in the sales, warehousing and management of goods in shopping malls can greatly improve the efficiency of shopping malls, so that real-time display of product information, online changes, storage management of items, and sales of goods can all be done in one go.
2.1 RFID system structure
RFID system includes front-end RFID data collection system, middleware, data transmission according to certain business rules, back-end business system related to RFID data system.
The front-end data collection system is composed of UR6258 readers distributed throughout the mall. RFID electronic tag readers are divided into wired and wireless two types, which mainly complete the collection and modification of product information.
The function of data middleware is mainly to encapsulate data according to a certain transmission protocol, such as TCP/IP, and the encapsulated data can be transmitted on the network. The external network provides a medium for data transmission. The background mainly completes the processing and storage of data.
2.2 The structure of RFID shelves in shopping malls
The shelf is composed of a certain number of grids (can be set as required), and each grid is equipped with an RFID electronic tag reader and a push rod. The commodity and the RFID electronic tag reader adopt a close coupling method, so there will be no mutual interference between the grid and the grid. The same product can be placed in the same grid, and different products can be placed in different grids. The RFID electronic tag reader reads the product code in the RFID electronic tag, and can retrieve the detailed information of the product from the database, including price, production date, shelf life, and so on. If the product information needs to be changed, you only need to use the wireless handheld RFID electronic tag reader to read the code of the corresponding product, call up the information in the database, and modify the information of the corresponding product in the database online, in one step, convenient Fast.

For customers, they can get the detailed information of the product directly from the display beside the shelf. If the customer decides to buy this product, he can take the product directly from the shelf. The push rod in the shelf grid will push the remaining products forward. The distance of the product to the RFID electronic tag reader is close coupled to read, so as to maintain the display of product information; if all the products are taken away, there is no RFID electronic tag of any product in the grid, and the RFID electronic tag reader will not show.
The shelf structure is for products with relatively regular outer packaging and hard texture, suitable for putting. For products whose outer packaging is relatively soft and not suitable for the push rod to act on it, a shelf structure can be adopted.
This shelf does not install fixed RFID electronic tag readers and push rods in the grid, but a certain number of RFID electronic tag readers are mounted on the shelf, the type of interaction between this RFID electronic tag reader and the product label It is also a close-coupled type. Customers can read the detailed information of the goods on the shelf by holding the mounted RFID electronic tag reader. This information can be displayed on the LCD display of the RFID electronic tag reader.
If you want to change the information of the product, the tally can use the handheld wireless RFID electronic tag reader MT7000 to modify the information of the product in the database, which is very convenient.
In addition, a shopping basket is also designed, which is equipped with a wireless RFID electronic tag reader, which can read the tags of multiple commodities at the same time, and the product name and price will be displayed on the LCD display of the shopping basket, which is convenient for customers Know your consumption expenditures.
