　　In the identification process, the content can only be read and cannot be written. The electronic label is a read-only electronic label. The memory of the read-only electronic tag is a read-only memory.

　　When the RFID electronic tag enters the working range of the reader, the electronic tag starts to output its characteristic mark. Usually, the chip manufacturer guarantees to assign a unique serial number to each electronic tag. The communication between the electronic tag and the RFID reader can only be carried out in one direction, that is, the RFID electronic tag continuously sends its own data to the RFID reader, but the reader cannot transmit the data to the electronic tag. This kind of electronic label has simple function, simple structure and low price, and is suitable for application in price-sensitive occasions. Read-only electronic tags are mainly used in animal identification, vehicle access control, temperature and humidity data reading, and industrial data centralized control.

　　It is worth mentioning that the read-only electronic tags can be divided into the following three types:

　　(1) Read-only label

　　The content of the read-only label has been written when the label leaves the factory, and can only be read out during recognition, and cannot be written again. The memory of a read-only tag is generally composed of ROM.

　　The data stored in ROM is generally written before loading into the whole machine, and can only be read out during the working process of the whole machine. Unlike random access memory, which can be rewritten quickly and easily, the data stored in ROM is stable and will be stored after power failure. The data will not change, its structure is relatively simple, and it is more convenient to read out, so it is often used to store various fixed programs and data. The characteristic mark of the read-only electronic tag is generally indicated by the serial number, which has been solidified during the chip production process, and the user cannot change any data on the chip.

　　(2) One-time programming read-only label

　　One Time Programmable (OTP) read-only tags can be programmed and written once before application, and cannot be rewritten during the recognition process. The memory for one-time programming read-only tags generally consists of PROM.

　　(3) Reprogrammable read-only label

　　The content of reprogrammable read-only tags can be reprogrammed and written after being erased, but cannot be rewritten during the recognition process. The memory of the reprogrammable read-only tag is generally composed of EEPROM.
